My name is Em Black, I am an straight edge vegan anarchist born in Taiwan(its an island nearby china/japan and philippines) I had long involved with the anarchist movement in the 90’s in a small town of the states, I stayed over for around 2 years and came back to taiwan, for many years i am heavly involved with the animal rights activism, while i work in an animal rights organization, if you ever seen a small tattooed girl in Simen Ding giving out flyers of abuse of animals in english, that was me, and it was part of my one man army activity in taiwan, ten years ago.
i had also invovled with the housing movement, as part of the reclaim the space/streets movement, and many other political activities, my best interests are the urban poor movement, labor movement and farmers movement, this may sound out of focus with each topic doesnt much floating into another, but its basic the same things, to against the expolitation of the capitalism, to against / totally abolish the capitalism, and all form of authorities/government. it is nothing inovation or reforminist, none any tolerance to the capitalism, multi-national corp, or the rich. I like to work with different people from deiffernt fileds, as i am coming from the background of a working class family, that i have much related feelsing toward to the labor movements and urban poor.
in the year of 2009 i will be going to Spain for a 1-2years of internship in the labor movements, I had been involved with some self-organized labor strike back in different places, but was never heavly invovled with the anarcho syndicalist activities with the workers, due to the nationalist problem that the only close part i can get is to be a supporter and a victim of the migrant labor system, but never stayed long enough to really touch down to the base to make things happen. during this internship i will also start my master thesis in the anarcho syndicalist movement in europe, I am giving this research a 2-3 years or more (but must less than 5 years) time, and hopefully i will able to make enough research and join all the fights that i can to not just bring back an effective thesis but a new revolution in modern times.
Right now, i am working in a civil empowerment media project to film all the activities in taiwan, as document for the social movements and hopefully this will help the movement itself to bring its own database visually. For more than an year i am trying to work out a network within the anarchist in asia, it has been extremely hard, but now with the direct connection from many places in this easten part of the world, hope it will process with the time.
And this blog space will be mainly in chinese about my personal life and experience, and my diy designs and T shirts!!!!!(go here to check it out)
All my research/studies will be move to other blog space, and the on going projects are :
Taiwan labor movement, a study with many cases – its all english, as a preperation for my master thesis
Zine project - a jornay has no end - make anarchism a threat again, about anarchist in asia (english/chinese)
Culture movement – artivism, i am making art project time from time for some activity
anti neo-liberlism – a page collects all anarchism relate articles in chinese, as a more wild view to anarchism.

Hi Em,
today I will talk in Berlin on the history of Chinese Anarchism.
What I need is some actual up to date stuff about the movement in China and abroad NOW.
You’ve got some links?
Anarchist Greetings from Germoney
R@lf
r@lf, you should ask me earlier, anyway, i will send you a mail with more details.
hi…
memorized…
A Wobblie from Florida here. I’m trying to get information on what’s happening now in Taiwan, particularly as far as radical squatting. Are there any collectives or social centers operating in squats there? Is the movement looking healthy enough to support a visitor for a month or so? I’d still need a year or so to improve my Chinese. All help would be appreciated – In Solidarity, isoleaustrali
isoleaustrali, there isnt any anarchist movement here, i am the only person exist here in the labor movement. as for squatting and any thing like that, none.
and maybe i can help you to find a place to stay over for some weeks in a union office, (no grantte for that) and if any that would possibly be more maoist group…..
i would suggest you go to China or HK for studying chinese, in HK here is 8a, the autonomous 8, they have a space for activity and its possible to stay there, and people in that group are very minded, interesting to have conversation with. in China, there’s a existing study group, you could find help from the comrades who is also studying chinese there. in taiwan, everything need money, as wobblie i think you wouldnt very interested in taking advantage as a “english” teacher, coz that life style is no where close to Blue-collar! and you very likely get stuck with abunch of other english teachers who are afraid of making any move, or have any idea making a move. no ativiity and whatsoever.
in china there’s harder to make any move, but at least the repression make the underground more interesting.Taiwan just too over exposed, people are not able/interested in making anything. I had been live here over 20 years seen only 2 anarchist living. and if by anychance you still chose to come here, i will be asure for the hard time you to find anybody to talk politics with, and 100% garantte from me with no anarchist in the movement. if theres some kid claim themselves to be anarchist, that only happens when they are gathering and calling pots to be “legal”, or just freedom and peace in a hippie way. come as soon as possible while when i am still here, so its psosible i can intro you to the movement…. hehe and you can myabe share about the movement in folorida, i will be heading to the group in sevilla, who associated with the starbucks campaign.
In Florida there isn’t much of a movement, as labor unions have no legal protection at all in the state government here. It is very sad. There is only one other IWW in my city, but there is a local branch in the nearby university town. South Florida would be a different story when it comes to immigration issues, but their work force is probably insecure as well. I squatted in London and Italy for a year, which was much more interesting than Florida. I have found the starbucks campaign amazing, I admire their actions and intend on buying some assessment stamps for the cause. Thanks for the info so far, I will send you an email shortly to continue…

I didn’t agree with you first, but last paragraph makes sense for me…
